Spiritual History

Our directors, John & Katherine Matthews, have ministered in many renewal settings, assisting with several Vineyard Church plants in the 1980s and 1990s. They also supported and helped introduce Steams Ministries Canada to Western Canada in its formative years in 2005/2006. John is an experienced business executive and Katherine a successful entrepreneur and home-schooling mother of three young men. They, with their son Caleb, are graduates of the full program at Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry (BSSM) in Redding, California. All three of their sons have also completed the internship program at Streams Ministries.

Our spiritual advisor, Harold Eberle, is a respected prophet and theologian worldwide. While Harold and his wife Linda were pastoring a church in the Northwest US, Harold felt an urgent call to prayer. After three months dedicated to seeking God, Harold had a visitation during which he became convinced that before the return of Jesus, the Church will rise up in victory, maturity, and glory. That experience launched him into a worldwide ministry to which he has been giving his life ever since. Harold is received as a teacher and prophet in churches around the world. He is a popular conference speaker and visiting instructor at numerous Bible Colleges.

The Matthews family and Harold have been in relationship since 1999 and have worked together in Harold's apostolic work in Africa since 2006. They have preached and taught annually at the bible colleges Harold established in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. Our relationship with Harold gives our school a strong sending and missions preparation emphasis, empowering our students to go out and plant.

One of our deepest convictions is to teach, model and impart the message "Everybody gets to play", which was a frequent statement of John Wimber, one of our fathers in the faith and a true reformer of the Church of Jesus Christ.
